  • Youth Empowerment Program Coordinator

Freddie King, born and raised here in Bartholomew County, graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ball State University. After he graduated, he began his career working with foster care youth in the Indianapolis metro area where he taught youth independent living skills and pathways to successfully transition from foster care into adulthood. Freddie went back to school at Indiana University in 2015 to become a School Psychologist and worked with youth within the school setting for six years at Fairfax County Public Schools in northern Virginia. In 2023, Freddie decided to move back home to Columbus, IN to be near his family and sought out opportunities to serve youth within the community. He is excited to be joining CYD to continue to support the goals and initiatives of the organization. Freddie spends his free time catching up on the latest TV shows or going to the movies. He also enjoys playing tennis, photography and spending time with his family and friends.

  • Professional Development Coordinator

Allison is a nearly life-long resident of Bartholomew County and has a passion for serving and investing in her community and a heart for young people. Prior to joining CYD, she enjoyed working with our county’s youth as an elementary teacher in BCSC. Allison loves learning and takes great joy in sharing her knowledge and skills with others, which makes her a great fit for our Professional Development team. She is thrilled to be a part of CYD, as her daughter had a very impactful experience as a Youth Ambassador, and Allison has seen first-hand the difference the program can make in the lives of young people. Allison shares her home with her partner of 20+ years, Brad, their two children, Lillia and Asher, and their two rescue cats, Gatsby and Casanova. When not showing her very clingy cats the love and affection they demand, Allison enjoys thrifting with her daughter, spending time in nature, playing games with her family, reading, golfing, and crafting.
